Tissue Engineers: the new bodybuilders
April 22, 2016
13:30
There’s a new kind of body-building coming and it’s as literal as it gets.
Tissue engineering explores how our cells can be used to grow, in vitro, specific tissues for posterior implantation. Occasionally, it may also go by the name of “Playing God”.
This field, with nearly unfathomable possibilities in the areas of regeneration and reconstruction medicine, is the fabric (eheh) the future is made of and will take our stage in a panel with national and international experts. You already know of Dr. Fabien Guillemot … can you guess who else is coming?
Will six-packs eventually be lab-grown? Well, for now, only if you keep doing push-ups while the cells incubate.
